Gross! Bed bugs are the ultimate unwanted company in anyone’s bed. If you have Bed Bugs and you’re in the West Palm Beach area, you’ve come to the right place. We are West Palm Beach’s bed bug extermination specialists. Bed bugs are pests that can move from host to host and easily passed from person to person. It doesn’t matter if it’s a hotel, Airbnb, Uber, Lyft, taxi, daycare or nursing home. The transmission from one person to another is highly contagious and that makes them a real pain to eliminate them.
While it can be straightforward to prevent them if you know what you’re doing, for someone that isn’t as careful, it can be easy to contract them.
We totally understand the feeling of terror that can overcome you when you realize you may have bed bugs. If that’s the case for you (and why you ended up on our webpage), please call us so one of our bed bug extermination specialists can help you schedule a treatment as soon as possible.
Can I do it myself?
You might be wondering if you can eradicate bed bugs in a do-it-yourself fashion. That’s a fair question.
Unfortunately, there’s a lot of information out there on the internet. Some is great and some is not so great. A lot of DIY websites says that it’s possible to eliminate bed bugs using home remedies such as rubbing alcohol, essential oils, peppermint oils and the like. While some of these remedies may work to some degree, you often have to apply them directly to each bed bug. If there are some that you can’t see, the remedy won’t work.
And again unfortunately, bed bugs are REALLY good at hide-and-seek.
So the chances that you’re able to directly apply a home remedy to each individual bed bug are basically zero.
Plus, who wants their bed to smell like peppermint or natural oils for months?
Do over-the-counter bed bug sprays and insecticides work?
Alright well what about all of those bed bug sprays or bed bug insecticides, West Palm Beach?
Glad you asked. There a many on the market and there are three things we want you to know about these over-the-counter bed bug pesticides.
First, you’ll have the same problem as you do with home remedies in that you need to directly apply the spray to each bed bug. Bummer.
Second, bed bugs have built up resistance to many of these sprays over the years. So they’re not as effective as they once were.
Lastly, and maybe most importantly, you’ll need to be extra careful with these insecticides they can potentially pose a health risk to you and your family if use recklessly or inappropriately.
Is it possible to get rid of bed bugs forever?
If you have any experience trying to get rid of bed bugs yourself you’ll likely find yourself asking this question. They seem like they can return with a vengeance very easily.
It is possible to eliminate them indefinitely, however.
If you find that they keep returning, it’s likely that you are either not eradicating them completely or you’re continuing to visit somewhere that has them – and then bringing them back home with you over and over again.
Recurring bed bugs can especially be a problem in multi-family housing units such as apartments, condominiums, and duplexes. If this is the case for you, a thorough pest control inspection may be in order. See our webpage for more details.
Will an exterminator get rid of my bed bugs?
We’re glad you asked! The answer is yes, absolutely.
West Palm Beach Bed Bug Exterminators will get rid of your bed bugs and we guarantee we’ll do it better than any commercial bug spray or home remedy will. Our technicians are professionally trained to eliminate bed bugs forever. Our team has extensive knowledge of bed bug biology and their environment. Our professionals know where to look for all bed bugs and have the ability to prevent their increase at all stages of development.
How do exterminators get rid of bed bugs?
Our pest control professionals have multiple different methods for getting rid of bed bugs. Let’s take a quick look at each.
The first method we have at our disposal is whole room heat treatments. Our pest control specialists will bring equipment to your home that raises the temperature in the room to kill the bed bugs. Bed bug and their eggs will die immediately at 122°F (50°C). We use special monitor to make sure that the right temperature is reached. Of course anything that is sensitive to heat will need to be removed from the room prior to a whole room heat temperature. As a side benefit, this treatment will kill harmful mold and other bacteria at the same time.
Another method we can use is mattress encasements. This is a lot like what it sounds like. We have different sized encasements that are air-tight. We can do this along with an injection or spot treatment if we’re confident that the bed bugs are confined to a specific area.
West Palm Beach Bed Bug Exterminators also has a canine inspection unit that allows us to literally sniff out every hiding place the bed bugs have. This helps us be more accurate with mattress encasement treatments or spot injections.
Finally, there’s whole house fumigation. Think termite treatments. This is a last resort for when your infestation is either stubbornly recurrent or just plain out of control.
